	Cullinghood School of Riding at Herons Farm


	Many of our own horses are home bred and we also take liveries. We have a traditional mews stable complex set in approximately 400 acres of land, of which 80 acres is woodland. The onsite parkland hacking has outstanding views, coupled with the extensive bridleways close by, you’ll find this hard to beat.


	The Facilities

	Cullinghood is a very caring riding school, clients are treated as individuals and ride only suitable mounts: they are not rushed in any way, but offered encouragement within their capabilities. The staff are well trained, and believe above all that safety must come first. We have 2 all- weather arenas, 60m x 40m and 50m x 25m, plus extra teaching and schooling areas, including show jumping and cross country paddocks in the summer months. All this means you have plenty of space to ride in whilst feeling secure in your surroundings.

	The Horses We are lucky to have a lovely selection of about 40 safe forward-going horses and ponies ranging in age, size, experience and ability to suit the individual rider. We can take riders of up to 15 stone, aged 4-70. We also breed and train our own horses and have other animals on the farm.


	Caring Staff The Teachers are very experienced, friendly and relaxed, they have a varied range of specialisms to offer. At Cullinghood we have had many years experience teaching every type of rider at many different levels. Riding can be taught here as a leisure activity or at a more serious career or competition level. Nervous novices are especially welcome.

	Group Lessons These are available in 1/2 and 1 hour sessions. Groups are kept small - usually 4-8. They are available 7 days a week, & some weekday evenings. Private Lessons - These can be 1/2, 3/4 or 1 hour sessions and we can usually arrange for you to have the instructor of your choice. Shared private sessions can also be arranged for 2 or 3 people. Special Lessons - To keep life interesting, we can offer 2 hour group or private lessons, video lessons (see what you’re really doing when you ride), 2-hour dressage, jumping and cross country specials, lecture demos, gymkhanas, and anything else - within reason! - that you ask for. We try to vary what we do.
