Dressage– Show Jumping – Cross Country
Do you want to get your horse used to those white dressage boards before your competition? Does your horse flounder at the flowers? What is it with those fillers? Getting stuck at the ditch? Come to Cullinghood and practice your skills in a safe, relaxed and friendly environment.
Sunday 18th May 2008 - 10.00am start
Ring 1 Dressage Schooling £10.00
Ride your dressage test a first time and then receive comments/feedback from the judge concentrating on areas where improvement is needed. The test is ridden a second time with, hopefully, visible improvements. Choose from Cullinghood’s own Walk, Trot or Walk, Trot & Canter test, Prelim 18 or Novice 28 (as Novice 21 but with small change). Just let the judge know which test you are riding.
Ring 2 Show Jumping Schooling £6.00
School over a course of numbered fences or practice over particular problem fences – you choose! The course will include a mixture of fences, fillers and rustic obstacles. In the interests of health & safety, only one rider will be allowed in the arena at any one time. As such, riders will have a limited time in the ring. Height of fences will increase steadily during the day. As a guide, from 10am, fences at 1’6”; from 11am, fences will be approx. 2’3”; from 3pm, fences will be approx. 3’0”.
Rings 3 & 4 Cross Country Schooling £13.00
School your horse over individual cross-country fences or follow our numbered course – it’s your choice! In the interests of health & safety, only one rider will be allowed on the course at any one time. As such, riders will have a limited time on course. From 10am, try our 1’6” – 2’3”XC fences in Ring 3. From approx. 1.30pm, try our 2’6” – 2’9” XC fences in Ring 4.
To ride all disciplines (Dressage test, SJ schooling & XC) £25.00 per rider/horse
Important notes:
· Riders may enter separate sections or ride in all disciplines. Enter in advance or on the day.
· Experienced staff will be on hand to offer guidance and assistance. First Aiders only – no paramedic on-site.
· For safety reasons, body protectors are compulsory for the cross-country sections and arms must be covered. Riders are strongly advised to wear body protectors for show jumping events.
· We ask you to walk the cross-country course prior to jumping for your own safety. Course will be available for walking on Saturday 17th May 2008 or before 10.00/1.30pm respectively on event day.
· Please bring a companion(s) with you, as we cannot guarantee that each XC fence will be ‘manned’.

submitted to Show Secretary)
1. It is a condition of entry
that Cullinghood, the organisers,
the landowner, or any site staff/official do not accept liability for accident,
loss, damage, injury or illness or for anything that may happen to horses,
owners, riders, spectators or any other person or their property whatsoever,
however caused. It shall be a condition
of entry that any such entrant agrees to indemnify the promoters/organisers against any claim for loss, injury, damage or
legal action. All persons attending the
show do so at their own risk.
2. The Judges’, Stewards’ and
the Organisers’ decision is FINAL in all cases. No objection or dispute regarding the
decision can be made. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry without stating
the reason.
3. Horse/ponies in ridden
classes MUST be 4 years old or over.
4. PLEASE NOTE THAT DOGS ARE
NOT PERMITTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
5. Any competitor considered to
be contravening the Show/Event rules, mistreating an animal or riding in a
manner that is considered to be or may cause danger to others will be asked to
leave the showground immediately.
6. No galloping/cantering
around the showground or lorry park.
Please warm up in the designated area.
7. The organisers
reserve the right to cancel or postpone any event, and reserve the right to
amalgamate or split classes according to final entries.
8. Entries will only be
refunded on receipt of a vets or doctors certificate, minus £2.00, no later
than 4 days after the event.
9.Please be
aware that, under the Horse Passports (
1. Access to and from the
showground MUST NOT BE OBSTRUCTED, so as to allow the emergency services free
access. First Aid is available during
the show and this facility is clearly distinguishable. In case of emergency, there is a telephone in
the Secretary’s Tent/Office. In the
event of an emergency the nearest official should be contacted or dial 999 on
the nearest telephone.
2. Horses are easily frightened
and can be dangerous. All persons are
asked to remember this and do nothing that might alarm the horses in
particular, no sudden movements. Please
ensure that you keep to the relevant marked areas, i.e. horses only pedestrians
only etc.
3. All persons mounted on a
horse MUST wear a hard hat (that conforms to either EN1384 or PAS 015 standard), also acceptable are hats that conform to American standard
prefixed with SEI or ASTM. Such headgear
must be properly secured and correct riding attire must be worn. Body protectors and gloves are strongly
advised.
4. Children must be kept under
close supervision at ALL times.
5. PLEASE DO NOT MUCK OUT your
trailer/horsebox onto our field. Take
your rubbish home with you or use the bins provided.
6. NO SMOKING ON THE STABLE
YARD – riders and spectators must stay in the showground area.
